What Role Does Our Mother Play In Our Lives?

Mothers play an important role in everyone’s lives. Having a mother in our life is a gift. From giving birth to a child, taking care of their children to introducing them to society, mothers play multiple roles for their kids. Moms are the first teachers, influencers, and supporters. As everyone knows motherly love is incomparable. When you’re sad, depressed, afraid, or alone, the most comfortable place to be is on your mother’s arm. Let’s take a minute to read and realize the importance of mothers in the world this Mother’s Day.

Mothers are the first people in the world to teach us how to behave, speak, and think, as well as how to believe in our own abilities. The best teacher for a child’s physical, emotional, perspective, communication, cognitive, critical thinking, and independence development is a mother. A mother plays many roles from the mother-child relationship to teaching about the world, language, sharpening their thinking skills, supporting, taking care and many more.

Unconditional & Selfless Love

Nobody in the world will love you as much as your mother does. Mothers offer unconditional and self-love, care and support.

How Old You Are You Need Your Mother’s Love And Care

When you’re sad, feel like a failure in life, or are depressed about something, you definitely need the love, care, and advice of a mother. Mother makes you feel confident and helps you come out from a bad situation.

Mothers Help Deal With Fears

Mothers help surpass the challenges or fears you face in your life. She will be your continuous powerful support and influence.

Sacrifice Anything For Her Children

Every mother in the world will have an unmatched love for her children. She is someone who will never stop loving you. She is a Mother, Hero and Friend.

Mother keeps you strong. Behind all the successful stories, the mother will be there. Whether you are going to a school, college or office, she supports you. Mother is the only person who wants to see their children happy no matter how they treat her in return.
She shows us how to carry on our legacy. Mothers always influence their children to live happy lives and contribute their best to society. They nurture their children to make the world a better place.
She helps mould child personality by teaching about wisdom, truth, peace, joy and a spiritual harvest.

Mothers Are Pillars And Foundations

Mothers motivate you and build you strong when you are emotionally shattered. She is a rock on which you can rely to overcome any difficulties, negative emotions, or insecurities.

Mothers Give Hope When You Are About To Give Up

You may feel hopeless, but a mother will find out and help get through the situation. Her cheerful words and positive attitude will help you face all the hardships of life.

Apart from these things, mothers always encourage their children to work hard, give advice to manage life, ask them to have a positive attitude, help to learn about family bonding, culture and more so that each child can become a better member of society and of their family. This Mother’s Day, you should make her feel special and express gratitude for what she is doing for you.

What Is Satin?

Satin is a type of fabric specifically made for delicate skin to feel the softness and richness of it. It is smooth and silky to touch, making it a royal one for nightwear. Satin nightdress minimises the friction, avoids chafing or roughness as it is too soft to handle. This fabric adds depth and richness to the colours and patterns used.

Advantages Of Satin Nightwear

1. Comfort And Feel

Satin is a luxurious fabric, giving it a silky feeling against the skin, making it the comfortable choice for nightwear.

2. Eliminates Friction

The smooth surface of satin reduces friction with the skin, which can be especially beneficial for those with sensitive or delicate skin or prone to irritation.

3. Breathable

Satin allows air to circulate, helping to regulate body temperature and prevent overheating during sleep.

4. Lightweight

Because it is typically light, satin encourages a relaxed and unrestricted sleeping pattern.

What Is Cotton?

Cotton is a natural fibre derived from the cotton plant, as everyone knows. It is mainly known for its softness, breathability and hypoallergenic properties. Cotton nightwear is typically lightweight, airy and perfect for people who prioritise comfort and natural fabrics.

You do so much, both knowingly and unknowingly, for your child every day. In your child’s development, you will play eight roles as a mother:

1. Build The First Bonds Of Emotional Attachment

In your child’s earliest days, weeks, and months, you are the primary caregiver and the first link of any emotional bonding and attachment. Your baby will learn their first emotions in relation to you.

The way you bond with your baby in the earliest months and years will leave a deep impact on your child’s overall well-being and development. You will become your child’s role model and the mother-and-child relationship will greatly influence the way they behave in social and emotional settings, especially in later years.

As a mother, how soon you react to your child’s needs and how nurturing you are to those needs will teach your child a lot about understanding others and their emotional requirements. No matter how insignificant or minor your child’s requirements may appear, pay attention to them. For instance, if your child feels afraid or anxious, acknowledge their feelings and provide reassurance.

You must learn this if you want to understand how mothers influence child development. Two very important life skills that your child will learn from you are learning to trust and providing emotional security.

It is your responsibility as a mother to instill in your child the value of trustworthiness and trustworthiness. If your child can trust you, they will have confidence and high self-esteem.
Always ensure that you are there for your child when they require support and encouragement to improve. Your encouragement will show your child that your love for them is a constant, and it will make them more secure.

Be considerate.

There will be times as a mother when you feel like nothing is going according to plan. It is natural to lose your cool and give up in despair, but wait. Think about your child from their perspective. You will teach your child a crucial life lesson, which is to be sensitive to the wants and needs of others. While your child may have a completely different perspective, as a mother, you may have a particular way of looking at things and carrying out tasks. Understand your child’s perspective too. Try to explain to your child what you think he can do differently if you think he is wrong.

Tip: Never look down on your child’s way of thinking. Talk to them about it and learn why they feel the way they do. Before you criticize your child, try to connect with them.

4. Be Kind And Loving

The way you behave towards your child will have a lasting impact on your child’s development throughout their childhood as well as their adult years. No matter how stressed or enraged you are, treat your child with kindness and love all the time. Your response to your child’s day-to-day activities and needs will show them the importance of being loving towards others.

Your child will learn how to treat others with kindness from the way you talk to them and others around you.

Tip: Be kind and loving in your regular interactions with your child.

5. Let Them Know That Family Is About Being Together

Your child will soon understand the meaning and significance of a family, particularly you. The way you interact with other members of your family will teach your child about many important relationships in life. Take your child to a variety of family outings and make sure to introduce them to different family members. Make family time at home a regular event.

6. Keep An Upbeat Attitude

Life is hard, but how you deal with it can teach your child how important it is to keep a positive attitude. Your child will learn from your response to various problems, no matter how big or small, that a positive attitude can help overcome many obstacles. Try to make the child understand in their own language by formulating stories around real-life events.

Be positive and teach your child always to think positive. Your child should be encouraged to never give up and to learn from their mistakes. These experiences provide valuable life lessons for kids that they may not immediately understand now, but as they grow up, they will come to appreciate the wisdom and resilience they have gained from your guidance.

This point is best illustrated by Qasim Adam, a blogger and author, recounting the life lessons he learned from his mother. Adam says, “When I was younger, my mother used to tell me stories about how she had to fight for everything in life… My mother often tells me about the struggles she faced growing up. My mother always had self-confidence despite these challenges. She would reassure me that it is possible to overcome any and all challenges that life presents. Every day, I try to put these words into practice by thinking about them. If my mother can be confident in herself even when times are hard, I should do the same no matter what challenges come my way. I’ve improved my self-confidence as a result of remembering this motherly lesson (i).”
Tip: Wherever you go through a problem you can discuss it with your child, tell him about it and how you think you will deal with it.

7. Encourage Your Child To Put In Some Effort

No one can teach your child the value of hard work as much as you can!

Your child might think that working hard at the end of the day makes you tired. But remind them of the immense pleasure and satisfaction it gives you to ensure your child’s well-being. Also, when your child puts in effort to participate in any activity or help you in any tasks, do not praise them for their results but their dedication and hard work. Encourage your child to participate with you in different tasks and appreciate the hard work not the result.

The English language has several terms for children between the ages of birth and 4 years, including “newborn,” “infant,” “baby,” and “toddler.” These terms are frequently used interchangeably, and their meanings may vary from person to person. In general, these terms refer to different ages and stages of early childhood.

So what age is considered a newborn? What age is a toddler? How about babies and infants? In this section, we go over these terms and the ages they refer to, as well as an overview of the growth and development you can anticipate during each stage.

How old are infants, toddlers, and newborns? Despite the fact that the terms “newborn,” “infant,” “baby,” and even “toddler” are frequently used interchangeably, the precise definition varies depending on the source. To make matters even less clear, there’s some overlap between the most commonly accepted definitions of these stages.

Newborn Age Range And Stage (From Birth To 3 Months)

For clinical care, the World Health Organization (WHO) and American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) both define a newborn, or neonate, as a child who is 28 days old or younger. Informally, however, many consider newborns to be babies within their first 2 or 3 months of life.

Babies frequently begin to make sounds other than crying two months after their due date—settling down when you pick them up, reacting to loud noises, watching you move, briefly opening their hands, and lifting their heads when placed on their tummies.

Infant Age Range And Stage (From Birth To One Year)

From birth to about the time they begin to toddle around, children are considered infants. Merriam-Webster defines an infant as “a child in the first period of life” but doesn’t give any age specifics. It describes a baby as “an extremely young child.”

In guiding new parents, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) refers to infancy as the stage between birth and one year. Kids develop at an astounding rate between their delivery date and their first birthday. Numerous milestones are likely for them, including sitting up, crawling, and even taking first steps.

Toddler Age Range And Stage (1 To 3 Years)

How old is a toddler? The toddler stage is generally considered to begin when a child is between 1 and 2 years old. For many, an infant is promoted to a toddler just after their first birthday, whether or not they’re officially walking (or toddling) yet.

The CDC defines children ages 1 to 3 as toddlers, 3- to 5-year-olds are characterized as preschoolers. The AAP follows the same definitions. Most people consider the end of the toddler age range to be around the time a child transitions into preschool.

Kids become more mobile and capable of independent exploration as they enter their second year of life.

Developmental Milestones In Toddlers

Because toddlers are like little sponges, they quickly memorize everything. They still need a lot of sleep and may take one or two naps throughout the day, which contributes to a daily total of 11 to 14 hours of sleep. Toddlers enjoy simple games, songs, and rhymes, and they can begin learning their colors, shapes, and alphabet.

When To Seek Medical Guidance

Children develop at different rates, and it’s normal for one child to reach certain milestones at a different age than another. But if you are worried about your baby’s development, don’t hesitate to bring it up with a pediatric health care provider. Your baby’s doctor can reassure you or refer you to a specialist if there’s a need for further evaluation or support.

Parenting Support And Resources

Use our parenting tips to teach your children to have better manners, habits, and behaviors. Keep your relationships with your partner and friends strong after having kids. Learn about traditional and non-traditional family relationships, including single-parent families, families with gay parents, and military families.

Get the scoop on your favorite celebrity parents, and follow along in their pregnancies. How to deal with divorce or separation? We can help. Additionally, we have all information regarding adoption, including the procedure, cost, and expectations.

Pregnancy And Postpartum Guidance

Get reliable information about pregnancy and childbirth. We’ll help you track your pregnancy week-by-week, including how big your baby is today and how your pregnant body is changing. Consult our due date calculator to learn when your baby will arrive. We’ll also help you have a healthy, happy pregnancy with our pregnancy-safe workouts and meal plans. You’ll learn how to make a birth plan, and we’ll tell you what to expect when it comes time to give birth news, and help working moms.

Most breastfed babies will gain weight in a consistent and expected pattern as long as they have a good latch and feed often. But if you’re breastfeeding and your newborn is gaining weight slowly or inconsistently, they may not be getting enough breast milk. Your baby’s growth and development depend on getting enough food. If you think your breastfed baby isn’t growing as much as you expected, here are some things to look for and what to do.

Symptoms of pregnancy are signs that indicate a woman may be pregnant. Pregnant women may notice pregnancy symptoms within the first 1–2 weeks after missing their period, including tender breasts, light spotting, fatigue, and morning sickness. Typically, increased levels of pregnancy hormones cause these symptoms, which may be accompanied by other symptoms such as increased vaginal discharge, intermittent cramping, frequent urination, bloating, and mood swings. Symptoms of pregnancy differ from person to person.

The stage of pregnancy, the onset of symptoms, and severe morning sickness are just a few examples of the varying signs and symptoms of pregnancy. Some people may have severe morning sickness, while others may not experience any physical changes at all. Hormonal changes in the fetus that occur shortly after conception and result in a variety of physical changes are the root cause of pregnancy symptoms. Those experiencing pregnancy symptoms may notice the following symptoms of pregnancy.

1. Missed Period

Missed period is one of the very first symptoms of pregnancy for those who become pregnant. This happens when fertilization between egg and sperm is complete and the body starts producing the hCG hormone (human chorionic gonadotropin), a hormone that is produced in the placenta 8–10 days after conception to allow the fetus to grow. As a result, the body stops producing eggs.

2. Morning Sickness, Nausea, And Vomiting

Morning sickness is one of the first signs and symptoms of pregnancy, usually occurring between 2 and 8 weeks after conception, and is a very common symptom for the majority of pregnant women. Although some people may experience symptoms throughout the day, morning sickness typically manifests as nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, headaches, and dizziness. Morning sickness may resolve by the 12th week of pregnancy, only to reappear in the 32nd week before childbirth. Severe morning sickness (Hyperemesis gravidarum) can cause nausea and severe vomiting, which can lead to dehydration, extreme fatigue, and fainting. Those who experience severe morning sickness should immediately seek medical attention for a thorough evaluation. However, only a small percentage of pregnant women experience no symptoms at all, depending on the physical condition of each person.

3. Changes In The Breasts, Tender Breasts

Tender breasts, swollen breasts, and breast changes are among the very first signs and symptoms of pregnancy, appearing 2 to 3 days after conception. The symptoms will be similar to those experienced before menstruation, marked by a sense of fullness, and tingling in the breasts. The breasts will enlarge, causing the bra to feel tighter. Furthermore, the areola—the pigmented skin encircling the nipple—darkens, the breast skin firms up, and the blood vessels become more visible. Typically, tender breasts, swollen breasts, or breast changes occur after pregnancy. Within three months, symptoms of breast changes will gradually diminish as the body adapts to the heightened hormonal activities associated with pregnancy.

4. Frequent Urination

Frequent urination is one of the early pregnancy symptoms that can be noticed after a period is missed. When pregnant, the body generates additional blood and fluid to sustain the developing fetus, making the kidneys work harder to filter more volumes of blood to excrete waste products into the urine, leading to more frequent urination. The urine might have a darker color, like orange or brown. Additionally, as the fetus grows, the uterus expands in size, putting pressure on the bladder and necessitating more frequent urination, particularly during nighttime hours.

5. Fatigue

A pregnancy symptom that can show up within the first week after conception is fatigue. When pregnant, the body produces a high level of progesterone to sustain the growth of the fetus. The increased hormone, on the other hand, may slow down the metabolic process. Pregnant women may also experience frequent cramps as a result of the increased energy expended by the body during the digestive process. Anemia secondary to iron deficiency and spotting during pregnancy, on the other hand, can result in fatigue and tiredness during pregnancy.

What Are The Early Signs And Symptoms Of Pregnancy?

Early signs and symptoms of pregnancy can be detected within 2–3 weeks of the last ovulation and sexual intercourse without birth control until fertilization between the egg and sperm occurs and the embryo develops. This is the stage at which fertilization between the egg and sperm is complete. During this stage, the body produces high levels of the hormone hCG, causing many changes in the body that can be detected in the urine. Taking a pregnancy test during this period usually yields accurate results.

6. Spotting, Light Vaginal Bleeding

Spotting, or light vaginal bleeding, is a sign and symptom of early pregnancy that can be noticed during the first trimester. After fertilization, the embryo implants into the uterine wall, resulting in spotting or vaginal bleeding during pregnancy without abdominal pain or cramping. However, not all pregnant women experience this spotting or light vaginal bleeding. Those who have persistent bleeding and abdominal cramps may be pregnant unknowingly (ectopic pregnancy), bleeding out blood clots from the baby’s placenta (subchorionic hematoma), or have a miscarriage. In order to evaluate the symptoms, it is essential to seek medical attention.

7. A Headache And Drowsiness

Headache and dizziness are among the early signs and symptoms of pregnancy, caused by hormonal changes in the body as well as increased blood circulation. Headaches and dizziness during pregnancy may appear more or less unequally, depending on each physical condition. Contributing factors may include hormonal changes, stress, insufficient sleep, or caffeine withdrawal. Those experiencing persistent headaches during pregnancy should consult a healthcare professional for a thorough examination.

8. Bloating

Bloating is a common sign and symptom experienced by pregnant individuals, stemming from elevated progesterone hormone, and affecting the function of the body’s digestive system. This alteration results in increased gas in the stomach, leading to bloating and sensations of fullness. Similar to premenstrual symptoms, abdominal fullness, discomfort, and bloating may occur. Additionally, frequent passing of gas may occur.

9. Cramping

Cramping is one of the first signs and symptoms of pregnancy, occurring approximately 1–2 weeks after conception. There will be pain, sharp pain, or cramping in the lower abdomen near the uterus, similar to menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea). This is caused by the body’s accelerated production of hormones to nourish the developing embryo, as well as the expansion of the uterus in tandem with the baby’s growth. Lower abdominal pain or cramping typically lasts between two and three days before subsiding. However, severe lower abdominal pain or cramping pain on only one side may be caused by an ectopic pregnancy or other complications. It is important to seek medical attention to evaluate the symptoms.

10. Food Aversion, Food Cravings

Food aversion, or food cravings, are signs and symptoms of pregnancy in which a pregnant woman may notice changes in her appetite, such as feeling hungry all the time, as well as unexplained cravings or unwillingness to eat certain foods, such as sour food or sour fruit, or an unexplained desire to eat strange foods or things that are not food, such as soil or paper. Individuals may find themselves liking or disliking foods previously unappealing or favored. In addition, some pregnant women may experience cravings for foods that provide instant energy, such as milk or dairy products, to increase energy and calcium levels in their bodies.

There’s no denying that parenting is a wonderful experience. It’s a journey that’s full of joy and full of challenges. As parents, it’s our job to love, care for, and lead our children every step of the way. But parenting isn’t always easy. Sometimes our children do things that we don’t want them to do. Sometimes they do things that we can’t understand. And sometimes we just don’t know how to help them.

Although parenting challenges can be frustrating, positive parenting strategies can help you stay calm and promote better behavior.

Positive parenting emphasizes rewarding good behavior and using positive reinforcement to raise children. It is believed that children’s behavior improves when they are happy and safe. Although it may be challenging initially, positive parenting is worth the effort. You’ll have better relationships with your kids, they’ll cooperate more, and you’ll feel less stressed.

Interesting Hints For Having A Happy Family

Feel more fulfilled as a parent with these positive parenting strategies every parent should follow:

Give Lots Of Physical Attention

Despite its apparent simplicity, children enjoy giving hugs, cuddling, and holding hands. Give them the love they want. It is acceptable if they are not overly affectionate. Figure out what makes your child feel loved and supported.

Boost Your Child’s Self-Esteem

Children start developing their sense of self as babies when they see themselves through their parents’ eyes. Your children pay attention to and learn from your body language, expressions, and tone. As a parent, your words and deeds have the greatest impact on their growing sense of self-worth. Acknowledging even small accomplishments will boost their pride. Comparing a child unfavorably with another or making belittling comments can make them feel worthless. Be compassionate and choose your words wisely. Remind your kids that it’s okay to make mistakes and you still love them, even if you don’t love what they did.

Don’t Be Afraid To Say No

Don’t be scared to say “No” and stick to it, even if it leads to a lot of sulking or whining. Don’t threaten without taking action. When a warning is repeated without action, it signals to the child that they can keep going. If a child doesn’t behave properly, there needs to be a consequence. First, give a warning. If your child misbehaves again, immediately put them in time-out. If they carry on, remove yourself from the situation.

Follow A Routine

One of the most important parenting strategies for toddlers is sticking to a strict routine because they are everything in parenthood. It might not interest you, but your children are actually really into it. Establish a daily routine to make your child feel secure and comfortable. Whether it’s taking a bath in a hot tub or reading your little one a bedtime story, make a habit of sticking to your child’s routine. Once you make this parenting tip part of your daily routine, you’ll start to find more time for yourself and your little one.

Make Time For Your Kids

Parents and kids struggle to have family meals and spend quality time together. Kids would probably love it the most. Instead of doing the dishes, get up 10 minutes earlier to have breakfast with your child or go for a walk after dinner. When children feel neglected by their parents, they tend to misbehave as a way of seeking attention.

Be A Good Role Model

Young kids observe and learn how to act from their parents. You should note that the younger they are, the more cues they will take from you. Before you react angrily in front of your child, ask yourself: Is that the behavior you want them to mimic when they are angry? Remember that your children are watching you all the time. Research indicates that children who engage in hitting often have a role model for aggression in their household. Demonstrate the characteristics you hope to instill in your kids: respect, friendliness, honesty, kindness, and tolerance. Show acts of generosity. Help others without seeking any form of repayment. Treat your kids the way you want to be treated by others.

Make Communication A Priority

Just because you, as a parent, say so, doesn’t mean kids will do everything. Kids will start questioning our values and motives if we don’t explain. By reasoning with their children, parents enable them to learn and understand without judgment.

Have Realistic Expectations

It’s natural for children to misbehave and for discipline challenges to arise. Striving for perfect parenting and expecting a perfectly behaved child can lead to frustration and disappointment.

Guide Your Child Through Their Mistakes & Weaknesses

Punishment is less effective compared to using praise and rewards with children. Instead of concentrating on weaknesses, help your child in reaching their full potential. When given encouragement, children will develop skills to make up for any weaknesses.

Control On Screen Time

In this world of growing technology, parents need to keep in mind this parenting tip. Screen time is unavoidable for children in today’s world. Teach your children about time and self-discipline to effectively manage screen time. Make an effort to limit screen time for both you and your child.

Invest In Yourself

Your energy and health are key to raising a healthy child. It’s critical to give your mental and physical health priority. Take time to invest in yourself and do what brings you joy every day. It is true that a calm mind is necessary for mental relaxation. Each child is different, and at Tist, we provide personalized care and attention to help parents nurture and foster their growth into well-rounded individuals.

Through this article, we have learned the positive parenting strategies every parent should follow. Apply these tips to support your child’s learning, growth, and thriving in any setting. It may take a bit of adjustment, but follow these tips for you and your family and you’ll love the outcome. The entire family benefits from improved outcomes, happiness, and health when parenting practices incorporate compassion and kindness.

Children crave limits, which help them understand and manage an often confusing world. Set boundaries for your children so they can safely explore and discover their passions. The child’s wings should not be clipped. The goal of your toddler’s life is independence. Therefore, permit them to do so as soon as they are developmentally capable of putting their toys away, removing their plate from the table, and dressing themselves. Giving a child a job boosts their self-esteem—and yours, too!

Don’t Try To Fix Everything

Give young children a chance to discover solutions on their own. You instill self-reliance and resilience in children when you tenderly acknowledge a child’s minor frustrations without immediately intervening to save them.

Keep In Mind That Discipline Is Not The Same As Punishment

Enforcing limits is really about teaching kids how to behave in the world and helping them to become competent, caring, and in control, not about punishing them.

Pick Your Fights

Kids can’t absorb too many rules without turning off and tuning out. Forget arguing about little stuff like fashion choices and occasional potty language. Concentrate on the things that really matter, such as not hitting, speaking rudely, or lying.

Create Your Own Quality Time

Have Fun With Your Kids

Don’t worry about rules; just let them choose the activity. Just go with the flow and have fun—you don’t always have to be the fun parent, but this play offers plenty of opportunity for bonding. That’s the name of the game.

Read Books Together Every Day

Get started when they’re a newborn; babies love listening to the sound of their parents’ voices. Cuddling up with your child and a book is a great bonding experience that will set them up for a lifetime of reading.

Schedule Special Time Each Day

Let your child choose an activity where you hang out together for 10 or 15 minutes with no interruptions. You can’t find a better way to express your love.

Promote Family Time

Time spent with parents is the most underutilized resource for enhancing our children’s lives. Kids with engaged parents do better in school, problem-solve more successfully, and generally cope better with whatever life throws at them.

Make Warm Memories

Your children will probably not remember anything that you say to them, but they will recall the family traditions—like bedtimes and game night—that you do together.

Be An Excellent Role Model

Be the role model your children deserve. Children learn from their parents. Modeling appropriate, respectful, good behavior works much better than telling them what to do.

Fess Up When You Blow It

This is the best way to show your child how and when they should apologize.

Green Your Lifestyle A Bit

Show your kids how easy it is to care for the environment. Waste less, recycle, reuse, and conserve each day. Spend an afternoon cleaning up the neighborhood’s trash.

Always Be Truthful

It’s how you want your child to behave, right? Teach honesty through imitation.

Kiss And Hug Your Partner In Front Of The Kids

Your partnership is one example your child has of what an intimate relationship looks, feels, and sounds like. Therefore, it is essential to set a high standard.

Respect Different Parenting Styles

Unless it is completely out of line, support your co-parent’s basic approach to raising children. Criticizing or arguing with your partner will do more harm to your relationship and your child’s sense of security than if you accept standards that are different from your own.

Learn The Best Ways To Give Thanks

Give Appropriate Praise

Instead of simply saying, “You’re great,” try to be specific about what your child did to deserve the positive reinforcement. You might say, “Waiting until I was off the phone to ask for cookies was hard, and I really liked your patience.”

Celebrate The Good Things

When you notice your child doing something helpful or nice, let them know how you feel. It’s a great way to reinforce good behavior so they’re more likely to keep doing it.

Talk About Your Children

Fact: What we overhear is far more potent than what we are told directly. Make praise more effective by letting your child “catch” you whispering a compliment about them to Grandma, Dad, or even their teddy.

Don’t Forget To Teach Social Skills

Ask Your Children Three “You” Questions Every Day

The art of conversation is an important social skill, but parents often neglect to teach it. Asking a child, “What was your favorite part of school today?” gets them excited; “What did you do at the party you went to?”; or “Where do you want to go tomorrow afternoon?”

Teach Kids This Bravery Trick

Tell them to always pay attention to a person’s eye color. Making eye contact will help a hesitant child appear more confident and will help any kid to be more assertive and less likely to be picked on.

Acknowledge Your Kid’s Strong Emotions

When your child’s meltdown is over, ask them, “How did that feel?” and “What do you believe would improve it?” Then listen to them. They’ll recover from a temper tantrum more easily if you let them talk it out.
